Sergey Ivanov is a Senior Researcher at ITMO University, Saint Petersburg, Russia. His research focuses on simulating  real-world processes and systems, mainly in social and environmental science. He has a long-standing expertise in high performance/distributed computing and Complex Systems simulations. His recent work concentrates on decision-making processes for the Early Warning System of the St Petersburg Flood Protection Barrier.

He has published over 50 research papers. He has extensive experience participating in Russian and international projects. He is the winner of a grang competition of the President of the Russian Federation for support of young Ph.D scientists.
